Giant Mummies in Peru?

giant mummy in peru

In my last article I discussed some “BIG” news about other types of bodies that were found with the Nazca Mummies. If my readers weren’t hit with a stone to the forehead of my subtle metaphorical sling, we are indeed talking about GIANTS.

Last night I saw some posts on X about a large head that was allegedly found with the other Nazca mummies.

Let me tell you what I know as of right now, and maybe clear up a few common questions I have been getting.

A little context before we get to the good stuff. My investigation has started only recently, and I count on the people who have been studying these bodies for years to catch me up to speed. I appreciate the generosity of the experts who have granted us access and shared their experiences and insights to provide context throughout our investigation. My goal has always been to keep an open mind, and to learn from the people who have been involved since the beginning.

What we know right now

It was through my conversations with a long-time researcher that I had learned about a giant head. It was a head that had been decapitated from the body that was found loose in the same cave as the rest of the mummies. To my knowledge, no corresponding body had been located. I spoke to another researcher who had also seen a photo of the head, but had not examined it in person.  He wasn’t too impressed with the giant head and felt that it was unlikely that it was a genuine biological skull.

I have seen a single photo of the alleged giant head. There was nothing in the picture to give perspective on the size of the head. It appeared very similar in shape and color to the mummy Sebastian’s head, but a little more bulbous on top. It was white and covered in the same diatomaceous earth as the other bodies. (the picture below is NOT the giant head. I used a photo of Sebastian to give a reference.)

Mummy Sebastian. This is not the giant mummy head.
Mummy Sebastian this is NOT the giant head

The only person who I have spoken to about the giant head who has seen it in person is “Mario”, the man who discovered the cave. During my interview with Mario, I sensed he was uneasy speaking about the head and was seemingly surprised I knew about it. He confirmed it existed and said that he believed it was a real biological skull. He had looked inside of it, and seen the jaw, and other anatomical features. When I asked how big the head was, he mimed with his hands the general shape and size of the head. I would estimate what he showed us with his hands to be about 18 inches wide by 30 inches tall. (Note: I’m assuming the estimates stated of an 8 meter tall body is based on the size of the head in relation to an expected body size.)

Sensing his unease in discussing the giant head, I moved on to other topics as I knew our time was limited, and we had a lot to cover. I did speak to him later in private about the head and am curious to see if what he told me checks out as we learn more.

Interpol Seizure of Specimens

You may have heard that this week Interpol seized a mummy’s foot and about 60 other items on display from a UFO museum in Argentina. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mysterious-mummys-foot-belonging-alien-32695718

I understand that this was at the request of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture who believes that these items were at the museum in violation of an agreement regarding archaeological discoveries between Argentina and Peru. Just last month, the Ministry of Culture and Federal Police also raided a press conference in Lima hoping to confiscate the Nazca mummies.

My question is where do the items go once they’ve been obtained by the Ministry of Culture? I’m hopeful they don’t just disappear. Whatever the mummies are, I’m hopeful that the MOC agrees that they should be studied by experts to determine their true nature, and then make informed decisions on their appropriate destination.

The scientific methods necessary to study the bodies properly will be very expensive. The best estimates I’ve seen put the study between $1.5-2 Million. It could be significantly more depending on the number of bodies being studied. I know there are private donors willing to pay for these studies. There are viable solutions where a collaborative process can be completed to determine whether any of these entities are unique and valuable archaeological discoveries or elaborate hoaxes. It will take some time to get answers. We need to be patient as there are a lot of political and legal issues that don’t appear to have a quick resolution on the horizon.
